In recent times, I've discovered what I call the Background Revolution. What that means is that I've decided to draw the characters and the backgrounds for my comics separately. Of course I'm not the first person to do this sort of thing. But it's a big deal to me because I find that it actually speeds up my comic-making process. Here's how that is: I draw a backround by hand and leave it uncolored. Then I scan the background, then use a StarOffice graphics file to colorize the background by creating colored shapes that go over various elements in the background. After that, I put the shapes in transparent mode, and that's it.
